What is not understood by the average buyer and an embarrassingly lot of "sound system contractors" is installing some sound equipment automatically means that everyone will hear clearly at every seat. The idea that because a sound is louder, it therefore must be clearer,  is false. Loudness has little to do with clarity other than making sure the sound overcomes the ambient noise in the room.

Another false assumption is that a particular name brand of equipment somehow automatically ensures a successful installation. Not so. The bottom line is this. The average buyer has no clue of how the sound system is going to perform until it has been installed and used for a few months under various conditions. Making the pastor, tracked music, and soloists louder is so easy it's ridiculous. Any "PA" system can do that.

The acid test is can you pick up the small voice of a child during a Christmas musical and have the proud grandparents hear him or her while seated in the most remote seat in the sanctuary AND do it without running into feedback.

The same applies to drama. How about the choir? Can you easily understand the words of the choir while seated anywhere?
