Practically everyone understands
what's involved in installing a sink, where to place it in a bathroom, how
high to mount it, and what piping needs to be installed to make it work
properly. Sound, lighting, and video systems are
unique features of a facility. They are not as well understood by builders,
planners, building and grounds committees, and architects. It takes someone
like Cathedral Sound that has years of experience with live music, drama,
and other ministries of your church to help coordinate the installation of
complex technical support tools common in today's contemporary worship
service.
Here are a few common examples of major construction
blunders we see everyday after it's too late to solve them cheaply.
- Air handlers improperly placed and installed that cause
excessive room noise annoying to the congregation and can make sound
mixing impossible.
- Lighting fixtures wired in the wrong arrangement making
it difficult if not impossible to install a video projection system
without washing the screen with bright light
- Large untreated walls that cause flutter echo that is
an acoustical nightmare for the sound techs and choir. Some have been so
bad as to cause the choir to become out of step with the music. This
should have been thought of before the building was built!
- A sound system can be designed into a set of plans so
your finished sanctuary looks nice when finished, instead of having to
"tack in" the sound system after the fact which never looks as good as it
could.
- Major acoustical problems are simply ignored with the
hopes it will look better than it sounds
- The wrong type of lighting is used. Wedding photographs
make people look purple! White light to your eyes is not white light to
film and video cameras.
This is only the tip of the iceberg of common problems
that we can solve before you move into your building and discover them for
yourself! Email or call us
before the foundation is poured and save yourself years of frustration and
thousands of dollars. |
